Our training courses and workshops combine theory with experiential learning to give participants a conceptual understanding of M&E and a comprehensive set of tools for conducting and/or commissioning robust impact evaluations to generate rigorous evidence.
Open Enrolment courses
CLEAR South Asia offers several courses that are open to all participants who work on M&E. To be notified about upcoming open enrolment courses, register here.
Evaluating Social Programmes
Evaluating Social Programmes (ESP) provides a thorough grounding in conducting randomised evaluations for measuring the impact of social programmes and policies. The programme covers methods and considerations for the design and implementation of randomised evaluations, and how findings can inform evidence-based policies and programmes. Participants engage with coursework designed to help them apply learning at their home organisations through real-world examples and practice exercises.
ESP is conducted annually in India and is tailored to the needs of policymakers, practitioners, and researchers from NGOs, governments, and foundations. For further information, please refer to the sample agenda
Measurement and Survey Design Course
The Measurement and Survey Design Course (MSDC) provides a comprehensive introduction to the concepts in measurement theory and quantitative survey design. The programme covers the practical and theoretical aspects of collecting high-quality data, particularly for concepts that are difficult to measure, through an array of pedagogical tools including lectures, case studies, and experiential exercises.
MSDC is conducted annually in India. The course is specifically intended for researchers, M&E professionals, students, and other individuals looking to build and/or refresh their knowledge of fundamental skills for collecting primary quantitative data. For more information, please refer to the sample agenda
Custom Courses
CLEAR South Asia develops and conducts workshops tailored to the M&E requirements and priorities of partner organisations. We customise training content after performing a detailed needs assessment of the organisational requirements, sectoral interest, the nature of participants’ work (donor, policymaker, NGO), and level of rigour and technical detail required.
CLEAR South Asia has developed custom courses for governments (Indian Economic Service, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Kingdom of Bhutan), civil society organisations (Indus Action, Magic Bus), donors and multilateral organisations (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF).
